VERNON CAREY FOUNDATION HOSTED HOLIDAY MALL SHOPPING SPREE

-Dolphins Players, Slip-N- Slide Records and Community Leaders Joining Carey in Shopping Entire Mall With Children From Local Charities-

Former Miami Dolphins Offensive Linemen Vernon Carey treated 31 deserving children to a mall

shopping spree at Westfield Broward Mall on Tuesday, December 20th. Joining the children in shopping

will be current Miami Dolphins Player John Denney and former NFL Players Ronnie Brown, Adewale Ogunleye, Bryant McKinnie, Nate Garner, Roscoe Parish, Arturo Freeman, Kevin Burnett, Duane Starks and Shawn Wooden, Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders, Hooters Calendar Girls and Slip-N Slide Records Founder Ted Lucas. The children were from organizations in Broward and Miami Dade County including Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department, Broward County Public Schools Heart Program, Adopt a Family, Miami Beach Police Athletic League, HANDY, and The Heart Gallery of Broward. Each child was paired with a celebrity shopper.

The Vernon Carey Foundation creates programs and provides support to encourage the improvement of our youth. These programs are designed to enhance educational and recreational development and economic opportunities within the community. The Vernon Carey Foundation sponsored the 3rd Annual Shopping Spree. Children each received over $300 in Gift Cards from the Vernon Carey Foundation to spend at the stores at the Westfield Broward Mall. Additional donors include JcPenney and Westfield Mall. Each child had a total of $350 to spend.
