Vernon Carey Foundation “One Step to a Brighter Future” Scholarship program

Each scholarship is in the amount of $3,000.00, totaling $9,000.00 given out to deserving local students. The schools selected have extra special ties to the Vernon Carey Foundation Board Members. Miami Northwestern is the Alma Mater of Vernon Carey. The Miami Carol City scholarship is in memory of Vincent Banks, father of LaTavia Carey and father in law to Vernon Carey. Miami Central is the Alma Mater of Felix Williams; Mentor to Vernon Carey and Treasurer of the Vernon Carey Foundation.
