Giving back and getting involved in the local community where they grew up is something that has always been very important to the Carey Family. That is why in 2010, Vernon and LaTavia started the Vernon Carey Foundation.  In 2020, the Foundation changed the name to the Carey Family Foundation to include the efforts of the entire family.  

Vernon and LaTavia and have four children, son Vernon, Jr., twins, son Jaylen and daughter, Taelynn and daughter, Dynver.
