Vernon Carey Foundation Hosts 41 Kids For Sneaker Shopping Spree

(Aventura, FL) Former Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes Offensive Linemen Vernon Carey treated 41 deserving children to a sneaker shopping spree at Dick’s Sporting Goods on August 16th. The children were from Curley’s House in Liberty City, 5000 Role Models, Ted Lucas Foundation and additional pre selected kids in need. Each child had over $200 to shop for sneakers, socks and other items.

Joining Carey in shopping were his wife LaTavia and sons Vernon Jr., Jaylen and daughter Taelynn and retired NFL Defensive end Adewale Ogunleye. Hooters and Royal Pig Pub donated the lunch for the children.

“We enjoyed being able to give the kids this opportunity for the new school year. We started the event four years ago with 20 children. This year we were able to help 41 kids for back to school,” sad Vernon Carey.

The Vernon Carey Foundation creates programs and provides support to encourage the improvement of our youth. These programs are designed to enhance educational and recreational development and economic opportunities within the community.
